About

Shota Fumoto is a documentary and portrait photographer based in Tokyo.

He photographs people he has lived among for a while. In 2026 he spent three months in Tbilisi, staying in a Russian painter's flat while a Georgian actor took him into his family, fifteen minutes away on the same avenue. The two circles rarely meet.
